I’ve listened to sermons and read books by Pastor Louie Giglio for years, but I never understood his passion for bringing worship and science together until I heard his How Great Is Our God sermon several years ago. (This particular video has been remastered recently, but the talk actually happened around 10 years ago. And yes, it’s 40 minutes, but it’s absolutely worth watching. You’ll never forget it.)
Listening to him bring scripture and the music of the stars together for the first time, it became clear to me that we often overlook the awesomeness of creation and the greater awesomeness of our Creator amidst the demands of our day-to-day lives. And that realization is why I’m super excited to work through The Wonder of Creation, Pastor Louie’s latest kids’ devotional, with my youngest kiddo.
The Wonder of Creation Devotional Overview
The Wonder of Creation devotional features 100 devotions that specifically focus on God as the Creator through the lens of science. Through topical devotions about animals, space, earth, and the body, kids are inspired to take notice, appreciate, and celebrate God’s creativity.
Featuring colorful illustrations and eye-catching photos, this devotional is ideal for elementary kiddos, and especially kids who love science, love to learn, or love the Bible. It’s also ideal for kids who need some encouragement in one of those areas.
The devotions themselves include a focal scripture, short prayer, and an Explore the Wonder prompt. This prompt encourages further exploration of the topic through discussion, an experiment, tip, or additional information.
While you can certainly go through the devotions as they appear in the book, you can also use the notes in the introduction to work through it theme by theme or use the index to search for a devotion that matches a specific science topic.

We’re only a few weeks into our time with The Wonder of Creation devotional, but my kiddo and I are both loving the things we’re learning together and the conversations we’re having along the way. Better yet, I love that we’re being reminded of how God is at work all around us.
Also worth noting, I’m LOVING all the extra resources available to us. They offer similar resources for the other books in the Indescribable Kids line, but here are the FREE downloads for The Wonder of Creation:
