You guys, it’s been an awesome week here. There are weeks where the crazy seems to control us, but this week, well, this week we controlled the crazy and it was everything I dreamed it could be. It probably helped that two of our weekly obligations were cancelled, but hey, whatever it takes, right?
So, what have we been up to this week? So glad you asked.
First of all, we had an amazing Easter weekend celebrating our Savior’s love. From The Boy’s Three Crosses on a Hill watercolor to catching Easter sunrise (you know I’m a sunset kind of girl!), to an incredible service with our church family, to purely fun egg hunt in the yard, our day Easter was packed full of celebration, fellowship, and family fun.
Another thing we’ve been doing quite a bit this week is packing. We are officially in full-blown packing/decision mode due to our upcoming move. Hmmm, are we sure we won’t need this over the next couple of weeks? Can we get by without that? Will we have enough plates?… And it goes on and on. Fun times.
Homeschool
Both Prissy and The Boy have had a great week in our homeschool. Can I get a hallelujah? For Prissy, Letter N stole the spotlight. She’s been busy learning that letter and is constantly on the lookout for all these letters she knows now. It’s so fun watching it all click for her.
On a very Prissy note, she particularly enjoyed that N was for Nest because this girl LIVES to get my ornithophobia all riled up. She was all about that nest.
As for their joint efforts, we took advantage of some gorgeous weather and treated ourselves to another spring scavenger hunt. They also enjoyed our co-op group’s Amate bark painting-inspired project. While the initial suggestion was to focus on things found in nature, Prissy felt a fairy was more suited to her tastes and The Boy was compelled to take a Ninjago spin on his.
The Boy worked so hard this week! He owned it despite staying pretty busy outside our home. A couple of highlights from his week were starting our Creation Anatomy study and our Squilt music appreciation lesson for the week. We listened to Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and stumbled across this video tutorial of it on YouTube. That takes some serious talent, huh?
I haven’t been posting much about our meals lately, but we did try one this week that you need to know about. Y’all, this Pesto Chicken Penne is legit. You owe it to yourself to try it out. It’s not often that we all love something, but this dish makes that short list of winners.
