Ecclesiastes 3:1 Fall Activity for Preschoolers

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
~Ecclesiastes 3:1

Ecclesiastes 3:1 Craftivity for Preschoolers

I love this time of year!  The leaves on our trees are changing colors and are finally drifting away.  It’s truly beautiful to behold and it’s the perfect inspiration for doing something easy and crafty with your little learners.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 Craftivity

This is a quick and easy activity and you probably have everything you need already on hand.  Here’s what you’ll need:

  • construction paper in fall colors (cut into small squares if your child isn’t using scissors)
  • scissors
  • glue
  • marker

After preparing the needed items, locate Ecclesiastes 3 in your Bible and read with your child for a bit.  I love that entire passage, but most likely you’ll want to turn the focus to seasons your little ones can grasp at this point.  That’s where this fall-inspired tree comes in.   This is a great time to simply talk to your child about what he’s observed about seasons.  From there you can direct the conversation however you wish.

Suncatchers made from tissue paper squares on contact paper would make a nice variation of this activity!

As for the craft, it’s simple and can be done by your little ones with very little help from you.  You’ll need squares of construction paper in your choice of fall colors.  You’ll also need one tree trunk cut from brown paper.  From there, it’s simply a matter of letting your kiddo arrange and glue the squares to form a tree on the background of your choice.  Another sheet of construction paper will work fine for this.

When it’s finished, find a spot and write out the scripture for Ecclesiastes 3:1.  (I never take time to make that part look particularly impressive, but I’m not losing sleep over it.)

You can add books or other activities to help explain the leaves changing colors if you wish, but that’s it for the craftivity.  Simple, inexpensive, and perfect for even the littlest learners!

Super sorry for the blurry photo. Maybe her cuteness makes up for it. :)
Have you done any fall activities with your kiddos this year?
