My kiddos love art and they love pets — our pets, your pets, and never gonna happen pets — so it’s really no surprise to me that they love celebrating pets through art.
I received complimentary access to this course for review purposes. Also, this post contains referral links; see disclosure for details.
We only have a dog and a cat these days, but they seriously ooh and ahh every time we visit a pet store or see someone walking dogs in the neighborhood. There’s not a cat, dog, bunny, turtle, or lizard that doesn’t grab their attention and hold it for a while.
And art? Well, both of my kiddos love practicing art techniques and learning new ways to express themselves creatively. Art is an important part of who they are.
Through Masterpiece Society’s Playful Pet Portraits, their two favorite things come together. They get to celebrate their love for pets through fun mixed media pet portraits. How fun is that?!?

Playful Pet Portraits:
Celebrating Pets with Mixed Media Fun
Playful Pet Portraits Mixed Media Workshop is a 10-lesson e-Course that explores simple techniques for capturing pets in multiple artistic styles and mediums. That means your kids can follow the templates provided for these mixed media projects or personalize them by using their own pets (or those never-gonna-happen pets) for inspiration.
Here’s a look at the art forms your pet lovers can explore through Playful Pet Portraits:
- Collage art
- Charcoal and gesso
- Negative space
- Oil pastels
- Palette knife painting (my Bob Ross fans are especially fired up about this one!)
- Watercolor painting
- Acrylic painting
This workshop teaches kids and teens to use these mediums to capture pets and their unique personalities. The best part is how it all happens through detailed, but fun video instruction. 🙂
Playful Pet Portraits Mixed Media Workshop
Upon registration you receive lifetime access to the Playful Pet Portraits workshop. That means there’s no pressure to complete the projects by a specific time. Your kids can work at their own pace and according to your family’s schedule, which is one of my favorite things about these mixed media workshops!
