When in doubt…
“When in doubt, go to the library.” This quote about Hermione shows up in chapter 14 of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” Spoken by Professor Dumbledore, this one comes from the ending of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Dwelling on dreams
“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live, remember that.” Yet another example of wisdom from Albus Dumbledore, this quote appears in Chapter 12 of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone while Dumbledore explains the dangers of the Mirror of Erised to Harry.
“The thing about growing up with Fred and George is that you sort of start thinking anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.” This comes from a conversation between Harry and Ginny in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
“One can never have enough socks… Another Christmas has come and gone and I didn’t get a single pair. People will insist on giving me books.”
Another quote from the Mirror of Erised discussion between Harry and Professor Dumbledore in the first book, this one doesn’t exactly fall into the inspirational category, but it’s still fantastic.
Turn on the light
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” This quote from Professor Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is probably my favorite quote from the entire Harry Potter series.
The outcome, not the beginning
“It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.” This quote appears near the end of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and comes from a discussion between Professor Dumbledore and the Minister of Magic.
“Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.” This quote comes from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and was spoken by Professor Dumbledore.
What a man’s like
“If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.” This wonderful reminder comes from Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
This simple word from Severus Snape in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows gives me all the feels every. single. time. Tell me I’m not the only one.
