May Reading List

April was a crazy-busy month and I don’t know how I did it, but I managed to read some great books.

May Reading List - goodreads- book list

We started April by reading a couple of chapters of  The Secret Garden, but ended up shelving it.  Between packing, moving, and trying to keep up with our normal homeschool workload, it wasn’t a good match for a read aloud right now.  I’m not sure when, but we’ll tackle it again in the future.

I finished reading Hungry for God … Starving for Time, Hope for the Heart of the Homeschool Mom, and Chasing the Butterfly.  All were great books and I’m happy I came across them during this busy season.

I’m always blessed by Jamerrill Stewart and her work for homeschool families. Her book, Hope for the Heart of the Homeschool Mom, was no exception.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was blessed by this gem!  While it is a collection of posts and not completely brand new content, I still found each chapter to be encouraging, affirming, and helpful – that’s exactly what I needed from it. I recommend this for any Christian homeschool parent; sometimes you just need to know you’re not alone!

I shared my review of Hungry for God, Starving for Time a couple of weeks ago, but it truly is a wonderful devotional for a busy season.  I intended to read it earlier in the year, but I held off for a while and now I’m so glad I did!  Even though we’ve been busy with our move to the new house, I was able to read a chapter here and a chapter there and was so encouraged just when I needed it the most.  If you find yourself short on time, don’t let it stop you from spending time with God.  This devotional is a great help in keeping yourself focused on Him.

As for this month, here’s what’s on my list.  I’m looking forward to diving into these and enjoying this new house of ours once we get unpacked.
